Leaving for fabulous Boracay beach in the semester break in March 2004

In the whole month of February , I was busy in my study work and could not visit the places again. In the meantime I was covering the subject in the class of simtech, marketing management , Op management-II, and was busy with the class preparation. The month of march carried a sense of new adventure to boracay and baguio to which I was planning in the first week of march. In the first week of march there was beautiful three days of celebration of the International week Conducted and coordinated by the MDM students and it helped in the displaying

Various countries art crafts and tourist places.The students of the countries like India, Vietnam, Laos, malaysia, Indonesia , China , Philippines, Singapore etc put up their stall and displayed various art facts. On 4th March,2004 the International week festival was called closed with a closing ceremony accompanied by some cultural programme.

The mid semester break in the march,2004 which was from 16 to 23 was quite memorable.I had planned ahead and booked my air plane ticket to a visit to boracay the famous beach in philppines. I wished to go to boracay via the air travel to kalibo airport from Manila and then from kalibo airport to port caticlan via the taxi or matador and in the last from the caticlan port to Boracay Island via the steamer or motor boat . This was an easy way to go there and as I had planned I went to Manila airport on 17 th march and it took hardly half an hour to reach kalibo airport in the aklan island by airtarvel . This was first time in my life I traveled in air, on land and on sea as apart of same travel destination. I really enjoyed the matadore taxi journey to the caticlan port from the kalibo airport which lasted for about 90 minutes thru various small towns and villages in the aklan island. I was accompanied by three maganda ladies in the back . I reached caticlan port at 1 :30 pm and quickly boarded on the motor boat and there I was accompanied and guided by one guide named Mr Ronny Sapico who turned out to be my helper in finding the right accommodation in boracay Island once I reached there .I took accommodation in the Rock hotel which had almost similar type of small cottages.I opted for two days of booking to stay in the cottage .On 17 th march, 2005, at about 4pm I went into the cottage room and took some shower and refreshed myself. After that I went outside to see the beach and my god ! I found quite different from the Puerta Galera beach .The puerta galera beach which I had visited in the month of September was a simple beach as it did not

All the modern beach facilities like speed boat , water skiing ,island hopping, large scale facilities of the deep sea diving, snorkeling etc. The boracay beach in one sentence is the best beach I have visited in my life till now.Back home I have visited some beaches in India in Puri( which is more famous for religious reasons) and in goa but they did not have the luxuries and facilities like those of the Boracay which has simply impressive array of modern beach sports and recreation facilities like water skiing, deep sea diving, snorkeling, deep ocean study, speed boat racing, surfing on the water, island hopping etcetc. The boracay has more number of hotels, restaurants, shops, stalls and telecommunication facilities on the beach than any other beaches I have seen before.

I should have stayed more than two days to fully enjoy the pleasure of boracay,but I did not have money. I was unfortunate that I could have any one of my batch mates from AIM especially the Indian ones for my visit to boracay and later baguio.

The beginning of the second semester in AIM mba 2003-05 with unimpressive first semester result cum grade sheet

I got off early after taking out my luggage from the belt conveyor in the airport after clearing myself from the Immigration and customs. I got off to a taxi a air-conditioned one and proceeded towards AIM.
Our classes started one day ago and I missed one day's class of two subject.
In AIM I was staying in room no 505 which was quite vacant at that time because out of four students two has gone for the exchange programme and rest two including me was staying in the dorm.The other student who was not for the exchange programme was Vedant Dube who also went to his house at that time.
As usual , I entered the class for the second semester and I joined the subjects which I liked though it was not so.
In this semester we had eight subject like General Management-I, Financial Managament-II, Financial Management-II, Management communication-II,
Management Accounting and control systems, Marketing Management, Operations
Management, and Strategic Information Management and Technology.
This term was lighter than the first term
The room no 505 was empty and I was staying alone till 25 th January ,2004 when Vedant dube came back from India. In the second term our batchmates were already having
Experience about the class participation norms and standards and therefore in this semester the general quality of the class participation was better than before and a lot of emphasis was given on talking sense rather than the talking nonsense and sometimes repeating.
I was abit scared about the grades in the subjects of the first semester and I had the feeling I may not done as I spoke quite little in some of the subjects and some times in other subjects. My fear was rightly predicted as we got the grade sheet in which I had flunked in four subjects in the first semester total seven units lost in the process and requirements were that no student should fail more than 12 units in ayear.
I flunked in management communication ( 2 units) , Human Behaviour in organization (2 units), Financial Management(2units) and Language of Business (2units).
We got our grade sheet on the 30 th January almost one month after the second semester had started. I was now in the danger situation in the first year.
To be honest, I still do not know how I have failed in at least two subject management communication and the HBO . History was created when one third of the class failed in HBO due to a very silly reason of writing wrong reflexion papers .. it is common thing that in the reflection I writes one's experience about learning in the subject and it varies from person to person and there is no fixed answer to this type of writing. Therefore many student were angry that how come one canfail in the subject only thru the reflection paper writing

Going back to Manila(after winter break) in January 2004 after staying in singapore airport for a night

We had to take one night shelter in the nearby hotel in and around the airport.
Though I was informed about the Non operation of the royal Brunei flight at the night by Manish himself in my house in the evening but we wanted to confirm it from the royal Brunei airline office in the night in the airport so we had decided to go to airport at night and if possible we shall stay at any hotel nearby airport.
I boarded off the flight in royal Brunei airlines at 10 O'clock morning in the next day
The airport was fully filled with the customers/ passengers of the flight of the previous
Night which was called off due to bad weather. I saw manish along with other two Indian Aim student named Rahul singh and Kris Aggarwala who were flying with royal Brunei from the kolkatta , they arrived from the delhi flight.
At last our flight landed in Singapore. But we came to know that the connecting flight from Brunei to manila is after two days which is rather unpleasant.
So we thought we must do something in Singapore before the flight lands in Bandar seri Begawan the capital of Brunei.As Planned we took some time off and we got out from the flight once the Brunei flight landed in Singapore.We took initiative to talk to the royal Brunei and other airlines so that we can reach manila with in next 24 hours instead of reaching in next three days. It was Kris 's idea to talk to Singapore airlines as they had code sharing agreement with the Brunei airline they were willing to take us in their flight to manila from Singapore with out any extra money to be paid.
As we got the green signal, we asked the Brunei airlines astaff to take out our luggages from Brunei airlines and load it in the Singapore airlines next day morning.
We were given a accommodation to stay in the small hotels room inside the magnificent airport (probably the best airport I have seen in my life till now) .
Four of us stayed and spend our night of 5th January in the single hotel room
Inside the airport lounge. It was nice and comfortable stay in the room.
Nearby the hotel room there was a good quality gym , reading room and a
Fantastic swimming pool .The whole of the change airport of Singapore was fantastic which is filled with a lot of hitech facilities like bars, restaurant, wire less Internet , mobile charging units, video games arcade etc etc. If we want to have the impression of a country from its airport then Singapore will come on top followed by kualalumpur, Hong kong, Bangkok , Bandar seri Begawan and manila. Amongst the airports I have visited. Really in this regard our airports fare badly in comparison to the Top class airports of South asia/ south east asia.
So next day we wake up at 7 oclock had our break fast and checked in for the flight from the Singapore flight departure .In a big airport like the changi airport one has to keep aware of gate numbers, departure gate and other important things lest one may forget in the vast crowd of passengers in the airport.
We boarded off the flight to manila at about 10 o clock, the flight journey was . peaceful and we reached manila after almost four to five hours.
We reached manila airport at the evening time on 5th january ,2004 at 5: 30 pm.

Relaxing in India in winter break in December -January 2004

I met my uncle and aunt and many of our locality people and many of them wanted to know where I used to study , what type of country is Philippines is? How far it is from India ? etc etc . I reached India on 14 december morning and I stayed there till 3rd January,2004. In the mean time I had one round in the british council library, National library, Nandan cine complex and Babu ghat. In the three weeks I stayed I did not had any problem from any Indian men / women. I could not contact manish goyal in his house forget about visiting his house in kolkatta ,Till now I have not visited his house once -strangely he did not even called me up to visit his house it is not him the same thing applies to Vikram surana and kaushik de - other two kolkatta based students.They never tried to maintain serious friendly relationship with me.
This thing was evident in the Institute where they hardly had sort of interaction with me.
As according to the booking , the 4th January, 2004 arrived and I got ready for the departure for the Manila by royal Brunei airlines which was the cheapest airline in terms of the ticket price. Boy ! they were rather at times a bit uneasy with the customer with their stinging un pleasant behavior cum remarks.At times these things come side byside with the cheapest airline tickets to the destination.
The royal Brunei airlines is operated by the sultan of Brunei who looks after the airlines as its chief mentor.
Any way , On 4th January ,2004 the flights (at the night) by which we were supposed to be boarding in got cancelled due to heavy smog/ fog in the cold winter month in kolkatta. The flight was post ponned till 10 o'clock in the next day.

Landing in India during the christmas(winter ) break in 2003-04

Kaushik de replied "I know him" I said " tell me whether Ninoy acquino
Is male or female "and to my surprise he replied Ninoy is female. May be he knew about him (Ninoy)or acting still I cannot understand that you are in Philippines and you don't know the Rajiv Gandhi of Philippines ( almost).I remarked that Ninoy is male And he was a much beloved husband of the former president Corazon acquino.
I was wondering may be this guys are short on the knowledge of contemporary Philippine politics. Well ! we reached the airport and did the formalities like having our tickets checked for the boarding pass, security check etc etc. And our flight was scheduled to take off at 4:00 pm in the evening but due to bad weather, and some technical faults it was delayed by one hour.Shortly after the conversation , we boarded off the Royal Brunei Airlines and after some half an hour the flight took from manila and we were looking at it from the sky and little did I wondered that what an exciting cum eventful period I had in manila right in the last six months. Our flight landed in Singapore where kaushik was expected to pick up his mother onhis route to kolkatta.
As expected our flight touched the grounds at Singapore where we went out for twenty just to refresh ourselves. After some time the flight took off to kolkatta from Singapore after taking all the passengers from Singapore stoppage.
In this part of the journey I had good talks with manish goyal in which he mentioned that students are facing hard times and willing to do almost anything in order to get the cash money. I had to tell him that next three months are quite crucial for me as something is going to be decided shortly. I have landed in kolkatta at about midnight at around 1:30 am to reach my house at about 3 am on the next day. It was a much needed welcome break in the country as I slept well for the next two days and I kept on remembering how it was in India during the last time before leaving for the Philippines and now after having one visit to it.I met my friend in kolkatta within next week and talked about my initial experiences in Philippines. I have realized not many are even aware of where the country Philippines is located ! Forget knowing about it. Roughly eight out of ten Indian does not know about the country philippines in a proper way taken by random sampling

Feeling on top of the world after winning the B-plan contest

Next day the results were announced and we counted on to our luck and I must say I was a bit surprised and happy that we were one of the two top award winners for the business plan contest as a part of the Development of enterprise subject -I.
We received the memento and the winner's coupon which consisted of 200 pesos valued for any snacks or beverage taken at the starbucks restaurant any where in the world.Need less to add we were delighted and ecstastic about the prize winning Business plan.
After the DE Business plan contest ,we had to prepare the plan for the marketing management which did not had any B-plan contest thing. And as routine we were Able to present our Marketing management plan based on the Intellexsi multi media education plan and we were not bad wither this time apart.
Now it was 11 december,2003 after doing all the things required for the first semester.
We were fairly relaxed.Next day was Saturday and as usual I had a desire this time to go and see the hot sexy nude dance in the Miss universal.As the late night approached I proceeded towards the Miss universal at about 11 pm and carried a large cash of money along with me as I had expected to get laid. I reached the miss universal theatre and sit on the table chair. Little did I knew that after three hours or more something is going to happen that will have serious consequences or the ramifications on my life in later part of my stay in Philippines and in India and some people where ever I will go will harass me in mild way.
Well ! as it is done I saw a lot of beautiful girls strutting their stuff to all the spectators inside the theatre and we were engrossed in admiration lust and pleasure of seeing the heavenly beauties soaked in disco lights and music.
I was getting passionate and got heated in desire to have s$$ with some of them.
Apart from beautiful these girls are also good dancers and dance well to the tunes of the western music based English songs , surprisingly at some times the DJ of the theatre will play some popular Punjabi remix based English songs.
Well I had to go to the dorm early morning because I had to board on the flight to kolkatta via Singapore by Royal Brunei airlines at the evening time .I reached the institute by aircon taxi at 5:30 am and then I slept for two hours as I had done the packing for my journey to India on 13 december, 2003. I slept and wake up at 9:40 am in the morning in the dorm and I contacted three other Indian students who will be traveling with me in the royal Brunei airlines and they were - Manish Goyal, Kaushik de,And Gautam Sharma. At about 1:30 pm I boarded in the taxi along with these three students heading for the Ninoy acquino international airport.It was traffic jam in between the route to airport when somebody amongst us asked about the direction of the airport and I said that I know the direction of the route to the airport. Then all of a sudden somebody asked who is Ninoy acquino ? I said I know about him.

The grand success of our Can (LT 6A) group DE business plan

After that I proceeded towards my dorm in makati area via the air con car which was passing by near the Halina hotel at about 6:00 am in the early morning. It was 17th November, Sunday, 2003 and exactly one year ago on this day I appeared in the AIM written test in st. xaviers college mumbai.After this incidence I started getting addicted to the dancing cum entertainment cum strip joints and decided to visit regularly with cash money at hand. Within a week I had blocked my ticket to India thru some air travel agents.
I scheduled my departure date to India during the Christmas break on 13 th December, 2003.during the first week our batch was busy preparing for the presentation for the marketing management and the business plan contest as a part of the development of enterprise -part I. Our can group which consisted of the eight members were actively involved in making the presentation slides and the word document for the business plan contest. My can group members were Tintin abu, Toni Mendoza, Mike Garcia , Karlo Nisce, Parag Ranade, Saurabh Ghatnekar, Inayas Udaya, and My self. So in the first week of December, 2003 we were busy putting down our Ideas and thoughts for the last week before the end of the first semester in the academic year. Only two things were left on from 6 - 10 decemeber, 2003.
It was on 4th December , we were supposed to present the Business plan of the Nirvana the concept of Men's spa saloon in the upmarket area of the metro manila in Philippines. It was Tintin abu's original concept based on her boyfriend desire to have the spa and saloon at one place for men's toilet and grooming facilities.
Our shop Nirvana will cater to needs of the metrosexual men staying in rich and upper middle class in having total personal grooming and beauty solutions.
We worked hard for almost five days to get into various facets of the plan like introduction ,Marketing, financial parameters, operations, human resources, etc etc.
The presentation of the business lasted two days and our presentation was doen on the last day in which we divided the presentation part in four students as it would be easier to do the job.In all there were four students in our sib group - Tin Tin abu, Sudipto basak, Inayas udaya and Karlo nisce. There were a total of twenty subgroups of ten can groups and all of them had to present the business plan in of fifteen plus five minute's time. Other groups had the plans based on the on the concepts of summer training camp, designer Laptop bags, Fruit beer , Ostrich meat, clip boards,Etc etc. some of them were interesting concepts which were to be presented in front of three judges who were professors like Jay bernardo, Elie santos, Eduardo Morato, and F. Bernardo.
As expected we presented our plan in front ofProf. Eduardo Morato and others. We presented our business plan cum buiness plan and estimation well in front of the judges. After our presentatation we were asked questions mainly by Prof. Eduardo morato.
He asked some questions which we could not comprehend and understand and but we replied back to him nicely to whatever questions we have understood. Now we were satisfied that we had done our job fairly well.
